Growing Up Is Never Easy!
This latest unflinching work from New York City based film maker Todd Verow (Frisk, Anonymous) is a deeply personal, semi-autobiographical story of growing up gay in picturesque Maine. Gay high-school senior Joe is not quite out to his family and has for years been in love with his best friend Andrew. Unhappy at home, Joe moves in with an older artist as a caretaker and occasional nude model. The boys girlfriend’s finally figure out the guys are more interested in each other than in them, and convince the lads to get it on. As the Joe and Andrew explore the gay world around them (as well as exploring each other) a strange figure from Joe’s distant past comes forward forcing Joe and Andrew to face their fears and begin a new, happier chapter in their lives.

| Hooks to the Left |
|
An exploration how multimedia has changed the world of gay male hustlers.
Veteran film maker Todd Verow (Vacationland) returns
with an intriguing experimental film shot all over the world on just a
cellphone camera. The film is based on the journals of a male hustler
named “Nail,” who reenters the world of male prostitution after being
in a relationship for ten years.
Hooks to the Left examines how the world of prostitution has
changed since the advent of the internet. The resulting pixilated
visuals, filled with male bodies, abstract interiors and street scenes,
serve as a fitting dreamlike landscape for the narrated journal entries
of Nail’s adventures of internet driven hustling.

| Bulldog in the Whitehouse |
|
Todd Verow takes on the Bush Whitehouse.
Bulldog in the Whitehouse takes political satire to obscene new heights: portraying the Bush administration as a cabal of lustful and traitorous gay men who are too busy having sex to notice the empire crumbling down around them. An explosive and darkly comic adaptation of Choderlos de Laclos’ novel Dangerous Liaisons, the film’s web of sex and deceit centers on Bulldog, a hustler who seduces his way into the Washington press corps to gain access to the halls of the political elite. At the bidding of his puppet master, a corpulent and power mad Karl Rove (AKA ‘Turd Blossom’), Bulldog engages in manipulative trysts with Whitehouse hotties like the demure press secretary, the religious leader and the confused, imbecilic good ol’ boy president himself. Veteran director Todd Verow (Vacationland, Hooks to the Left) skews modern politics like no other film maker working today.
